Pakistan’s flamboyant opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman will undergo a fitness test before the second T20I if the three-match series against New Zealand, scheduled to be played on Friday at Dubai.
Zaman missed the third T20I against Australia, which Pakistan won 3-0 and also warmed the bench during the first T20I of the series against New Zealand due to a knee injury.
The left-handed opening batsman was replaced by the young Sahibzada Farhan, who could not perform up to his potential scoring 40 runs in two games with 39 and 1 run respectively.
However, the inclusion of Zaman in the playing XI for the second 20-over game against the Kiwis is subjected to a fitness test.
In the first T20I against Blackcaps, Pakistan lost both of their openers for just 10 runs as both Babar Azam and Sahibzada Farhan failed to perform at the top of the order.
However, Pakistan eventually won the opening game of the series by 2 runs after a thrilling contest.
