Fakhar Zaman an inch away to break another record

After historic 200, the left-handed opening batsman Fakhar Zaman needs 20 more runs in three innings to set the new record of fastest 1000 runs in ODI history.

Fakhar now has 980 runs to his account and stands 20 runs short of yet another record. On Sunday (July 22), if he manages to contribute a minimum of 20 runs to the board, he will become the fastest-ever batsman to 1000 ODI runs surpassing Windies legend Viv Richards, who had notched up the milestone in his 21st innings. Indian captain Virat Kohli had reached the mark in his 24 ODI innings in 2008.

The left-handed batsman became the sixth double-centurion in ODI history, while the first Pakistani to achieve the feat, also becoming the highest run scorer in an ODI inning for Pakistan beating Saeed Anwar’s 194 runs.

Pakistan on Sunday will play the final match of the series.
