Out-of-favor Fawad Alam revealed that his father and former First-Class (FC) cricketer Tariq Alam is the reason behind his patience on and off the field.
“My biggest inspiration, motivation, and support is my father. He never let me become disappointed and always gives positive vibes,” Fawad revealed in a press conference at National Stadium Karachi, his first appearance in front of reporters after scoring 12,000 FC runs.
Fawad once again highlighted the pain when he gets ignored despite performing continuously at the domestic level but thinks that his strong performance lets his fans fight his case.
“What else I can get than people talking about me. It’s my incentive that everyone talks about me and my performance. I am happy with the way I am and I will try to not disappoint people by my performance,” he maintained.
With over 12,000 runs in FC cricket at an average of 55.65, Fawad is still waiting to get a call in the national team. He has once again roped in hopes for upcoming home series against Sri Lanka.
“Who doesn’t want to play for Pakistan. The upcoming home series is yet another opportunity for me and I am ready for it. I will try to give my best if I get the opportunity,” he said.
