Fawad Alam ignored as PCB announce Pakistan A squad against Australia

LAHORE: Out-of-favour batsman Fawad Alam got ignored once again as the Chief selector National team, Inzamam ul Haq on Monday announced Pakistan ‘A’ squad for the four-day first-class series against Australia starting from September 29 at ICC Academy, Dubai.

Fawad who recently reached the milestone of scoring 10,000 FC runs and also became the second fastest Pakistani batsman to do so after Hanif Mohammad, was also not selected for the England tour in June despite attending the training camp with other players.

This time also he attended the training camp and was expected to make his comeback with team A but unluckily he failed to pull the attention of selectors.

On the other hand, the announced 14-member squad includes Sami Aslam, Abid Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Asad Shafiq (C), Usman Salahuddin, Saad Ali, Agha Salman, Muhammad Rizwan (W.K), Waqas Maqsood, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Amir Yamin, Umaid Asif and Saud Shakeel.

The team head coach Hafiz Sajjad Akbar alongside team manager Tauseef Ahmed, Assistant coach Abdur Rehman, fielding coach Abdul Majeed, Physiotherapist Hafiz Naeem Ur Rasul, trainer YasirMalik and team analyst Usman Hashmi will also travel with the team to Dubai.

The team will depart for Dubai on September 26.
