Federal cabinet concerned over deteriorating situation of sports in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet has expressed concern over the deteriorating situation of sports in Pakistan while Prime Minister Imran Khan was resented over the performance of athletes in the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The federal cabinet meeting held at PM House where Inter-Provincial Coordination(IPC) Minister Dr.Fehmida Mirza was also present.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan Fawad Chaudhry talked to the media after the meeting and revealed that IPC has been instructed to finalize sports policy.

“Prime Minister showed resentment over Pakistani’s performance at the Olympics. Sports federations are not working properly and the situation must be looked at immediately,” he said.

“IPC has been asked to create a new sports policy and a complete infrastructure of sports will be changed. We will quickly see results in this development” he added.

Fawad emphasized that government has no power over these sports federations. “Presidents are elected through elections but the process is so defrauding that there is no merit. Prime Minister has instructed to swiftly look onto this and bring a new sports policy,” he concluded.
