Veteran all-rounder, Shahid Afridi looked hopeful ahead of Pakistan’s clash against Bangladesh on Wednesday and told that he still feels Pakistan will lift the Asia Cup trophy.
Pakistan will meet Bangladesh in the last game of Super Four, which is a must-win contest for both the sides to face India in the final of the tournament.
The Men in Green won their two games against Hong Kong and Afghanistan, though not in a convincing manner. Moreover, India brutally defeated them in the two matches they played against each other.
Sarfraz Ahmed & Co. are being heavily criticised for the sort of cricket they have played so far in the tournament, however Afridi has different views.
“I am still thinking positive,” said Shahid Afridi. “I feel Pakistan will win the Asia Cup,” he added.
The former captain believes that there were high expectations from Pakistan because of the way the team had performed before the Asia Cup. At this tough situation, the team should be backed.
“They have played brilliantly before the Asia Cup, Sarfraz Ahmed has led the side very well,” he said. “We should support them at this time,” he added.
Afridi also said that these players are Pakistan’s future, they will represent the country in World Cup 2019.
