Fehmida Mirza to head sports coordination committee meeting


The minister of Inter-provincial coordination Fehmida Mirza will chair the first meeting of the sports coordination committee on Thursday in Islamabad.

The committee, which was set up by the federal government, will discuss several issues concerning sports in the country.

Sports ministers of all four provinces including advisor sports Abdul Khaliq will attend the meeting in which the ministers have to present their province’s report on sports.

The minister sports of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit are also invited in the meeting as the government wants to flourish sports there as well.

According to the sources, the committee will overview sports issues and try to sort out solutions to uplift the status of sports in the country.

The committee will also plan things to stage National games and the first youth games.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier set up a sports committee having Ehsan Mani as head to overview sports-related issues running in the country.
