Karachi: World’s football governing body FIFA has extended the mandate of the PFF Normalisation Committee (NC) until December 31, 2020.

According to the details, FIFA’s Bureau Council sent a letter to PFF’s NC containing the extension in their regime. The letter highlighted the positive progress of NC towards making the matters right in teh federation.

“The Bureau took note of the PFF Normalisation Committee’s significant progress in several aspects and that the PFF now has a functional administration supporting football activities,” the letter read.

The letter further stated that it wasn’t possible to conduct election according to previous mandate i.e. 15 June 2020. Now, FIFA looks forward to seeing PFF’s election in December 2020.

PFF Normalisation Committee chairman Humza Khan said: “On behalf of my fellow members and myself, I greatly appreciate FIFA having taken our request into consideration and extending the mandate. We also thank FIFA and AFC for continuing to repose confidence in the PFF NC, and will endeavor to do our best to fulfill the same in a timely manner.”

It must be noted here that FIFA, in 2019, formed a normalization committee with an assignment to conduct free and fair elections in the federation. Humza Khan — a former captain of Karachi United FC — is teh chairman of PFF’s NC.
