FIFA introduces new awards after distancing itself from Ballon d’Or

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced eight new awards that they will give away during the upcoming Best FIFA Football Awards, which will take place in Zurich on January 9.

FIFA has announced these awards after the federation distant itself from the French Magazine for the Ballon d’Or award. Previously, FIFA awarded its own World player of the year award from 1991 till 2009.

There will be awards for the best male and female player and awards for coaches as well. The best players will be chosen through two-part process.

People will vote from all around the world for the award and 200 media representatives will give their decree in favour of players, it will make the 50% of the decision.

On the other hand, the coaches of national teams will give their votes to name the player of the year, it will be the other 50% part in choosing the best player.
