FIH to discuss Pakistan’s suspension in executive board meeting

The Federation for International Hockey (FIH) has decided to discuss Pakistan’s suspension from Pro Hockey League in executive board’s meeting scheduled on March 15 in Japan.

Shahbaz Senior will represent Pakistan in a two-day meeting which listens to the verdict of Pakistan in this issue. The future of Pakistan’s hockey will be decided later.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) informed FIH about their unavailability for the first phase of Pro Hockey League due to lack of funds. The federation was going through serious financial crisis.

The federation was even not able to arrange travel expense for the team during the event. The funds were not enough to start a training camp ahead of the tournament on time.

Pakistan hockey team was to play Argentina in February to kick off their Pro Hockey League’s campaign.
