First B-5 championship to be held in Gilgit


Karachi: The first B-5 National Championship under Softball and Baseball Federations will be held in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Baseball Federation President Fakhar Shah and Softball Federation Secretary Asif Azeem’s released joint statement.

Teams from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and host Gilgit-Baltistan will participate in the championship.

The organizing committee delegation will soon visit Gilgit-Baltistan for the administrative matters of the championship.

“Baseball 5 is a new combination of softball and baseball for teens. Holding the first National Championship of B5 will be very helpful in the promotion and development of this sport in the country,” Fakhar said.

“The two federations have taken joint practical steps to make B-5 Pakistan popular and strengthen the infrastructure,” Asif Azeem said.

“Before the championship, B5 training and coaching workshops will be held in Karachi and Lahore,” Asif disclosed.

“Due to the personal interest and patronage of WBSC Secretary Beng Choo Low and POA President Syed Arif Hassan, the first B5 National Championship is being held in Pakistan.,” he concluded.
