WELLINGTON: New Zealand require 211 runs to win the first one day international against Pakistan here at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Saturday, ARY News reports.
New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first in the match.
Pakistan, batting first, could only manage to score 210 in 46 overs. Shahid Afridi was the top scorer for the team as he made 67 runs from 29 balls which included nine boundaries and three sixes. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq contributed 58 runs from 87 balls comprising of four boundaries and two sixes.
Haris Sohail scored 23 runs from 38 deliveries while opener Ahmed Shehzad contributed 15 runs from 34 balls.
Medium pacer Grant Elliot was the stand-out bowler for the Kiwis as he took three wickets in his 4.3 overs while conceding 26 runs. Pacers Kyle Mills, Trent Boult and Corey Anderson dismissed two batsmen each. Adam Milne also grabbed one wicket in the innings.
