Five athletes who made Pakistan proud in 2018


Pakistani athletes shined in the year 2018 clinching some worthy achievements at international level. Their promising talent assured that Pakistan has a bright future ahead.

Despite difficulties, they hoist the Green and White flag high and proved their worth at the international stage. Their never-give-up approach helped them bring laurels to the country.

Here are five prominent athletes who bagged medals in 2018:

Nargis Hameedullah

Hailed from Quetta, Nargis bagged bronze medal in the 68+Kg category of the Karate event in Asian Games 2018. She is the first female karate master to win a medal for Pakistan at an international event.

Mohammad Nooh Dastagir Butt

Gujranwala-born Butt clinched the bronze medal in the 105+Kg category of the weightlifting event of Commonwealth Games 2018. He lifted 173Kg in the snatch and 222Kg Clean and Jerk.

Talha Talib:

Talha rocked in the 62Kg category of weightlifting event in Commonwealth Games 2018 and won a bronze medal.

Mohammad Inam

National champion Inam once again proved his mettle snatching a Gold medal in 86Kg wrestling event of Commonwealth Games 2018.

Rabia Shahzad

19-year-old Rabia bagged the gold medal in Ralph Cashman Open Weight Lifting Championship while also clinched gold in Asian Bench Press Championship in Dubai.
