Five things to watch out for in Kings vs Qalandars clash
Shukriya Pakistan

Karachi Kings have the dream start to Pakistan Super League’s third season with two wins in two matches that too against the two of the most successful teams of the leagues, Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars have forgettable outings so far with two consecutive losses against Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans.

Now it is the time for the biggest and the most anticipated clash of the league, Karachi Kings against Lahore Qalandars. The two cities with the oldest inter-city rivalry and these are the two biggest teams of PSL, who have failed to perform in the PSL as per their fans’ expectations. Karachi Kings have an upper hand over Qalandars with wins against them in four encounters. However, no past records or statistics will come into account when they will face each other once again.

Here are the five things to look out for in the contest.

The Afridi show

Shahid Afridi was the most discussed aspect of Karachi Kings. The veteran all-rounder, who moved from Zalmi to Kings, have delivered with the ball and in the field with his experience. However, an entertaining show with the bat is due on him and it would not be a surprise if he bats higher in the order and plays a blistering inning tonight.

Zaman’s blitz

Fakhar Zaman was impressive against Multan Sultans. His controversial statement ‘finishing game is not my job’ kept him in the news. In his second game, he failed to score. But this time, he will look to make his presence felt. He has been in form with the bat and he can be that impact player for Qalandars who can change the fortunes in their favour.

Amir’s magic

Mohammad Amir bowled a brilliant spell of two overs against Peshawar Zalmi, he felt some niggle so he left the field on precautionary measures. He took two wickets for six runs in those overs. He bowled exceptionally well against the Gladiators as well, where he picked one wicket for 20 in his four overs. If Amir plays against Qalandars, he will cause a lot of problems for them.

Flight of Shaheen

The 17-year old left-arm pacer, Shaheen Shah Afridi was seen as a surprising prospect in this season of PSL, but he has not put an impressive show so far. However, he has got the potential to run riot against any batting line, so it is the just the matter of time when he will announce his arrival.

Imad’s leadership

Imad Wasim has been impressive so far as the Karachi Kings’ captain. The game against Lahore Qalandars will be a high-pressure game. Imad Wasim’s real test would be captaining the Kings against Lahore Qalandars and he is likely to succeed in the test as he is a thinking skipper and has got the support of the senior pro, Shahid Afridi. Karachi Kings look like a gelled unit under the leadership of Imad Wasim.
