Karachi: Late Coach Amad Football Academy has been inaugurated at the hub of football in Karachi, Lyari, ARY Sports reported.
The academy has been set-up in memory of the late coach of Lyari who dreamt of unearthing young talent from the underdeveloped area. District Municipal Corporation (DMC)’s former chairman Malik Mohammad Fayyaz inaugurated the academy and appreciated efforts to support football in the city.
“I am overwhelmed to see such an academy has been set-up for young footballers of Lyari. I hope this academy will work towards highlighting youngsters from this area,” he said.
“The current situation of football in Pakistan is not ideal but I hope the upcoming time will bring something valuable for the game in the country,” he added.
Former senator Wasf Shah also acknowledged the importance of this new state-of-the-art academy. “I believe this academy will produce quality players who will go onto represent Pakistan in the future,” said Shah.
It must be noted here that Lyari is a hub of football in Karachi. People here direly follow the game which is the most followed sport across the world.
