Former Pakistani cricketers want Misbah Ul Haq to say goodbye to international cricket with respect and dignity.
Pakistan’s batting great, Mohammad Yousuf advised the current Test skipper of his country that it is the right time to take retirement as he is being respected by the fans despite of six straight losses in the longest format of the game.
He also urged the board to hold Pakistan’s home series at some other venue because playing continuously at the UAE has damaged country’s cricket a lot.
Ex-Pakistan’s flamboyant batsman, Ijaz Ahmed told Gulf’s news agency that Misbah Ul Haq should follow the footsteps of the great Imran Khan and call it a day when he is on peak.
Ijaz Ahmed quoted the example of Imran Khan that he retired from international cricket after winning the World cup 1992, when he was at the top of his game.
Both the former cricketers agreed that the best choice to hand over the captaincy band after Misbah’s retirement is Azhar Ali.
