Former Olympian Qamar Ibrahim appointed new hockey coach


Lahore: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed former Olympian Qamar Ibrahim as new hockey coach for the national team.

According to British Broadcasting agency, PHF secretary Shehbaz Ahmad has said that Qamar Ibrahim is being appointed as the new head coach for Pakistan hockey team and it would be his first experience as a coach in the Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament being held in Malaysia during April.


It may be noted that Qamar Ibrahim has replaced Shahnaz Sheikh who resigned after a disastrous tenure. Qamar Ibrahim has represented Pakistan during the 1990’s and he was a part of the Pakistan team who won the Bronze medal during the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.
