Former Pakistani cricketer Sharmeen Khan passed away in Lahore, on Thursday at the age of 46.
Sharmeen was suffering from the lungs infection (Pneumonia). Her sister Shaiza Khan informed, that former cricketer had arrived in Pakistan from England two days prior.
Sharmeen represented Pakistan women’s cricket team in 2 Tests and 26 One day international matches. She was the first ever women cricketer who formed the national women cricket team along with her sister Shaiza.
Sharmeen and her sister Shaiza landed Pakistan the membership of International Women’s Cricket Council in 1996, which enabled green shirts to take part in 1997 Women’s Cricket World Cup, held in India.
The right-handed all-rounder made her international debut against New Zealand at Christchurch in January 1997.
