Formidable Karachi Kings have tightened their seatbelts to make the most of their home support and start Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5 campaign on a winning note.
With the likes of number one T20I batsman Babar Azam, explosive left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan and power-hitter from England Alex Hales, Kings have strong options in the opening department.
Sharjeel, who will be making his comeback at the big stage after 2.5 years, is expected to open Kings’ batting alongside Babar who is a must-watch batter in today’s encounter. The right-handed batsman averages 42.60 in T20s.
British-South African middle-order batsman Cameron Delport will support the men in blue with his strong abilities to hit the ball hard. Chadwick Walton is likely to keep the wickets despite Rizwan being the mentor. Walton is a clean hitter of the ball hence will get an advantage of being in the playing XI.
Iftikhar Ahmed, with his all-round abilities, will look to dominate yet another contest for Kings as his last year’s performance above the bars. Imad Wasim, the skipper will try to get hold of the team with having immense confidence in his boys.
The bowling department will also be led by skipper Imad along with Mohammad Amir, their experienced bowler in the ranks. They have also two great overseas death bowlers as Chris Jordan and Ali Khan, the renowned faces of franchise cricket across the globe.
The runners-up of the last two seasons, Zalmi will highly depend on Kamran Akmal at the top. English opener, Tom Banton will most probably open with him who is coming from a great BBL in Australia. In the middle-order, they have the basics covered with experienced Shoaib Malik and Umar Amin.
Bowling department looks a bit inexperienced as they will heavily rely on Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali. Young U19 pacer Mohammad Amir just like Akif Javed of Islamabad will be a player to watch out.
The match is expected to be a great interesting thriller. Today is a double-header as Lahore Qalandars will face Multan Sultan in Lahore at 7.00 pm.
