As the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) enters Sharjah leg tonight, strong looking Multan Sultans is confident to overcome Quetta Gladiators who have won both of their matches so far.

Having in-form Umar Akmal in their side, Quetta Gladiators is looking in good knick and can be lethal against Sultans at Sharjah. But on the other hand, Malik led Sultans have the weapons like Andre Russel and Shahid Khan Afridi who can thrash the opponents on their day.

Sultans skipper Malik can give strong time to the opponents as he has so far scored 83 runs in two matches. If he gets his form continue then Gladiators may face trouble to hold the things properly.

Their top three batsmen including Shan Masood, Tom Moores, and Lauri Evans need to play a key role by scoring quick runs in first six overs to help their team start inning strongly with the bat.

All-rounder Hammad Azam can play a crucial role in Sultans against Gladiators as the youngster has the ability to hit big shots coming down the order. His medium pace bowling is keen to watch in this match as he will be looking to resist as so far his performance is not too impressive.

If we look at their bowling attack, then Chris Green can make a solid impact at the opponents. Junaid Khan would be leading the pace battery for them while Andre Russel and young Ali Shafiq are looking to make their presence feel. Afridi’s four-over leg-spin bowling spell will also be an important one for Sultans. He has the ability to disturb batsmen with his variety of spin, googlies.

To counter Sultans, Gladiators have their opener Shane Watson who smashed 81 runs against Islamabad United to take his team over the victory line. He has so far scored 100 runs in two innings and is a threat to all the opponents.

Ahmed Shahzad is another batsman who can bring things right for two-time PSL’s runners-up if he gets his form back. The right-handed batsman has a good track record in T20s but failed to get off the mark so far.

Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed if promotes himself up in the batting order then he can be worthy for Gladiators. He played a handy knock of 37 runs along with Umar Akmal against Peshawar Zalmi which they won convincingly.

Sohail Tanvir will lead Gladiators in bowling along with Ghulam Mudassar and Mohammad Irfan Jr. Mohammad Nawaz will hold the spin bowling department.

Both the teams are looking forward to start the second phase of the PSL season four on a winning note. Let’s hope for yet another exciting contest of this season.
