‘My friend, I will miss you’ Wasim Akram pays tribute to late Dean Jones

Karachi: Wasim Akram said he will miss his Pakistan Super League (PSL) coaching partner Dean Jones who passed away on Thursday afternoon due to cardiac arrest.

Former Pakistani pacer Akram penned down a heartfelt note for late Jones whose sudden demise left the entire cricket fraternity saddened.

“Like everyone else, I’m absolutely gutted. The world lost a good man today. My friend Deano, I will miss you,” he wrote.

Akram, on behalf of the Pakistani nation, thanked the departed soul for his contribution to Pakistan’s cricket. “I know I speak for all of Pakistan when I say thank you, thanks for batting for us & everything you contributed to Pak cricket. You will never be forgotten,” he highlighted.

It must be noted here that Akram and Jones worked together across the world as they both served as commentators for their countries respectively. They coached two-time PSL’s champion Islamabad United together. Later on, Jones joined Akram in Karachi Kings’ coaching set-up for fifth edition of the league.
