Ghayas Zahid became the first ever footballer of Pakistani descent to play in Champions League when he featured Apoel Nicosia or APOEL FC against Real Madrid on September 13.

The Norwegian midfielder was recently transferred from Valerenga of Norway to the defending Cyprtut defending champions, APOEL FC on a four year contract.

Ghayas was Valerenga’s key player, he was the joint highest goal-scorer in 2015/16 for his former club Valerenga with seven goals in his 29 appearances.

However, the memorable event of Ghayas’ debut was overshadowed by Real Madrid’s brilliance where they registered an impressive win by 3-0 against APOEL Nicosia.
