Pakistan’s flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi said that giving Sarfraz rest before an all-important World Cup 2019 is surprising for him.
“If Sarfraz wants to rest then it’s okay otherwise giving rest to skipper before WC is surprising for me,” said Afridi while talking to the media at National Stadium.
“I think Sarfraz should be there with the team as they have to participate in the upcoming world cup,” said Afridi who was representing Multan Sultans in the fourth episode of the PSL.
Afridi said that his team [Multan Sultan] have made a lot of mistakes which led them down in the tournament. “I think we didn’t put a good show on the field which made our way out of the tournament,” he said.
While answering to a question about the team’s owner replacement was one of the reasons behind their downfall, the veteran all-rounder claimed poor performance instead of any particular person. “As I said it depends on how you play on the field and I think we didn’t do good,” he said.
The 34-year-old feels that he still can play cricket as it is something makes him excited. “I will keep on playing cricket as there is a unique connection between me and my fans,” said Afridi.
Afridi is popular among the international leagues around the world. He has played 303 T20s scoring 4175 runs at an average of 18.57. The hard-hitting batsman has a handsome strike rate of 154. With his leg-spin, Afridi has bagged 333 wickets.
