Glenn Phillips will fly to Australia for 3rd Test as batting cover

New Zealand batsman Glenn Phillips has been called as the batting cover in the squad for tomorrow’s third Test against Australia at the SCG, Sydney as captain Kane Williamson and left-hander Henry Nicholls are still ailing from viral infection.

Both the players have missed the past two days of training and probably will not feature in the Third Test. Left-arm orthodox spinner Mitchell Santner is also not well and didn’t train at the practice session on Thursday.

The 23-year-old who has played 11 T20s for New Zealand will now fly in the evening as the cover of both the batsman.

Australia has taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series after beating the Kiwis in Perth and Melbourne by 296 and 247 runs respectively.
