Pakistan’s sprinter, Gohar Shahbaz clocked 10.66s to qualify for the semi-final of Men’s 100m at Asian Games on Saturday.
Gohar came sixth out of seven counterparts featuring in heat 6 of Men’s 100m.
Liaquat Ali also from Pakistan failed to qualify for the semis finishing at fifth in heat 1 clocking 11.01s.
In shooting, Usman Chand with 75 points grabbed first spot in qualification-day 1 and qualified for the second day.
Usman took 25 points each in all three rounds.
Abdul Sattar of Pakistan also made it to the Qualification-day 2 scoring 65 points.
In Sepak Takraw, Singapore defeated Pakistan 2-0 in Men’s Regu Preliminary Group A.
Mohammad Baz of Pakistan lost to Hasan Khalid 1-0 in Men’s +84kg Karate.
In Padepokan Pencak Silat, Pockjay Tachin of Thailand beat Mohammad Arshad of Pakistan 5-0 in the quarterfinal of Men’s Class J: 90kg to 95kg.
In Boxing, Tu Powei of Chinese Taipei outclassed Mohibullah of Pakistan 4-0 to qualify for the round of 16 of Men’s Light Fly (49kg).
Moreover, Pakistan failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of men’s double badminton after losing to Sri Lanka by 2-0.
Pakistan’s duo of Azam Rizwan and Kashif Ali Sulehri didn’t start well as they lost first round by 21-12.
The pair wearing green, came back strongly in second round after scoring three early points but the Sri Lankan pair dominated the second phase of the game finishing at 21-13.
