Pakistan government has issued No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) to participate in the Junior Hockey World Cup that is scheduled to be played in Uttar Pradesh, India from December 8.
The neighbouring countries are going through a rough political patch since Uri attack took place in September this year, for which India held Pakistan responsible.
In this situation, Pakistan Hockey Federation needed a NOC from the government to send the junior team to India to participate in the global hockey event.
PHF wrote a letter to Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) to get the permission from the government.
On Friday, Pakistan Sports Board communicated the PHF secretary Shahbaz Ahmed Sr. that they have received the NOC for the Junior Hockey World Cup from the Prime Minister House.
The event will feature sixteen international teams that include, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, England, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Spain.
Pakistan is placed in Pool B alongside Netherlands, Belgium and Egypt.
