The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar said that the government should strive for the betterment of sports infrastructure in the country.
Nisar while talking to the media in a prize distribution ceremony of the National Women Championship in Lahore said that sports can play an important role in the country’s success.
“By sports, a country can progress but it needs to be up to the mark with proper facilities,” he said.
CJP further said that female athletes in Pakistan should get ample opportunities to polish their talent and to hoist the green flag at the international level.
“I am glad to see the talented girls who can represent Pakistan at the International level,” he said.
“I think these girls deserve more than what they get,” Nisar added who thinks that girls can also win big titles for Pakistan in sports.
He appreciated the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) for organizing such a fruitful tournament which paved the way for young girls to showcase their talent.
“All praises for the PFF who provided an opportunity to these girls which will enhance their skills but they should keep on working hard to bring girls in the mainstream,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Army beat WAPDA to lift the trophy of the PFF National women championship at Punjab stadium.
Army bagged the prize money of Rs 0.3 million while WAPDA pocket Rs 0.2 million.
