Green shirts seek equalizer against mighty Australia

A few changes are expected as Pakistan seeks an equalizer against red-hot Australia in the third and last T20I at Perth on Friday.

The home side comfortably chased the target with seven wickets in hand to defeat tourists in the second contest of the three-match series at Canberra where first T20I was played.

Except for consistent Babar Azam and hard-hitting batsman Iftikhar Ahmed, no batsmen from Pakistan were able to click and their performance was way down as compared to only Steve Smith who singlehandedly took his team over the victory line.

Pakistan paid highly for continuously retaining Fakhar Zaman and Asif Ali who both failed consistently throughout. Both the batsmen were kept to play fast for the team but they are even not getting proper balance out there.

Now, following the series of failures by both the batsmen, some reports suggest that the team management is thinking to bring in Imam-ul-Haq and Khushdil Shah in place of Fakhar and Asif.

Imam can be a good partner of skipper Babar while opening the batting for the men in green while Khushdil’s power-hitting ability makes him potent selection at this point in time.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s bowling line may see some changes as young Muhammad Musa and Muhammad Husnain are lined up to replace Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz. Musa will be making his T20I debut and will be lethal with his pace.

All eyes are on Misbah’s plans to the team and its execution in the ground. The team should come up with an aggressive approach to take over in-form Australia.
