Atletico Madrid’s coach Diego Simeone has hailed his striker Antoine Griezmann as one of the best three in the world and has appreciated the efforts of the player which has helped him reach this level of consistency and giving his best when it matters most. Griezmann scored two goals against Barcelona in the quarter final and a crucial away goal against Bayern Munich in the semi final which helped his side progress to the final of UCL for the second time in three seasons.
“He has worked very hard, pushed himself and knows how to listen,” Simeone said on Saturday according to AFP.
“The best way to improve in any job is to listen. Without doubt he is one of the best three players in the world.”
Although the Atletico Madrid side face a difficult proposition in Real Madrid who have the likes of three time player of the year Ronaldo, world’s most expensive player Bale and the Frenchman Karim Benzema and many more so they have a difficult task on their hands but he is confident that his men can topple the Los Blancos.
“In the Champions League that is clearly the route they have chosen,” added Simeone.
“I expect an opponent that will wait for their opportunity. The presence of Casemiro in midfield has given them a lot of power defensively and in the Champions League they have played on the counter-attack.”
