Pakistan’s experienced all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and opener Azhar Ali are fit to play the final of Pakistan domestic’s most prestigious tournament, Quad e Azam (QeA) Trophy in Karachi.
Mohammad Hafeez was out of action after the series against Sri Lanka as he was in England doing the remedial work for his bowling action that was found illegal during the test he underwent in England in November.
On the other hand, Azhar Ali sustained a knee injury during Pakistan’s series against Sri Lanka, which kept him out of action since then.
Both the experienced cricketers requested the board to test their fitness so that they could feature their department, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, in the final of the QeA Trophy.
Now, both the pros have cleared their respective fitness test and will represent SNGPL in the final of the trophy against WAPDA, which will be played in Karachi.
If both the cricketers put a decent show in the final, there are chances that Azhar Ali can be selected for Pakistan’s ODI series against New Zeland, whereas, Hafeez can make it into the squad for both ODIs and T20is.
