Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez slammed a 117-ball 123 as Federal Areas beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 25 runs in a high-scoring encounter in Rawalpindi on Monday.
Federal Areas put up 351-5 in the first innings courtesy Hafeez’s ton and contributions of 87 and 56 by Abid Ali and Haris Sohail respectively.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in an unsuccessful but decent chase scored 326 with Shoaib Malik scoring 72 off just 49 balls.
Pakistan internationals Ehsan Adil and Zafar Gohar shined with the ball for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federal Areas respectively bagging three wickets each.
The final of the five-team Pakistan Cup tournament will be played on April 29 between the teams who finish on the first and second position of the league table after playing each other once.
