Pakistan vice-captain U19 Haider Ali blistering 70*off 38 balls against Nigeria U19 in the first official warm-up fixture led green shirts to a 10-wicket win in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.
On a beautiful Mandela Oval in Hammanskraal, Pakistan chased the target of 110 in just 14.3 overs. Haider innings included eight fours and four massive sixes until he was retired. Mohammad Haris and Fahad Munir scored 18 and 14 runs respectively.
Pakistan earlier after losing the toss, rattled the Nigeria batting line-up courtesy Aamir Ali 3 for 12 and Wasim Akram, Abbas Afridi two wickets each reducing them to just 109 in 36.2 overs.
Mohammad Wasim, Fahad Munir, and Tahir Hussain picked up one wicket respectively. Sulaimon Runsewe (29) and Samuel Mba (20) were the only two Nigerian batsmen who were able to go in the double figures.
Men in green will now face Sri Lanka U19 on January 14 in Irene County Club, Pretoria. Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign on January 19 against Scotland.
