Potchefstroom: Pakistan vice-captain and opener of the U19 team, Haider Ali is confident to score runs against the arch-rivals India in the semi-final of ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.

Haider reminded of the performance he gave at the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup which was held recently and feels that it’s time to turn up in the big semi-final clash without getting pressurized.

“I scored 45 against India in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup match recently, I feel confident heading into the game and will give my 100 percent and also feel confident that I will deliver against India. This is just another game for us and I don’t feel any additional pressure.” Haider said in a video released by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The right-handed batsman played a quick-fire knock of 28 off 34 runs which was filled with glorious drives but unfortunately got run-out.

“My confidence is high after the Afghanistan innings. I know my importance to the team and I will aim to carry on the batting form and provide the team a good start against India,” he added.

The 19-year-old appreciated the support given by the fans and cricketers after the win against Afghanistan. He urged fans to pray for us.

“I want to thank the fans who have supported us, especially after the quarter-final win. I also want to thank the cricketers who have tweeted for us and encouraged us ahead of the semi-final. I request the fans to pray for us, we will give our 100 percent and aim to win the World Cup.” he concluded.

It must be noted that Pakistan will face India tomorrow at the JB Marks Oval at Potchefstroom.
