MUZAFFARABAD: Haider Ali struck unbeaten 91 as Overseas Warriors notched their first victory in Kashmir Premier League (KPL), beating Bagh Stallions by five wickets in the ninth match.
Haider and Nasir Nawaz set the tone for the Warriors to chase 187 runs with four balls to spare.
For Stallions, Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed stood out with flying colors, scoring 73 and 54 runs respectively. Masood struck 11 boundaries and a six while Iftikhar smashed four boundaries and as many sixes.
Sohail Khan and Abbas Afridi took two wickets each for the Warriors.
In reply, the Warriors lost their Uthman Ali Khan earlier but Haider stood firm alongside Nasir to keep things well for his team. He played 57 balls and scored 91 runs laced with seven boundaries and six maximums. Nasir made 31 off 24 spread over three boundaries.
They both scored 47 runs together. In the end, it was Kamran Ghulam who smashed 41 runs off 17 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.
Amir Yamin was the only wicket-taker from Stallions as the right-arm medium pacer took two wickets. Warriors lost three batters in a run-out.
