‘Abid Ali’s hard work is visible in his performance’ says Dimuth Karunaratne


Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne has praised Abid Ali’s batting and said that he works really hard and it is also obvious while he is batting at the crease.

“He has done really good things, he was hungry to score runs and batted for a long time without any panic. It is a very good sign for Pakistan cricket,” He said about Abid who scored two centuries in two Tests.

Left-handed batsman feels that they were playing at home and Pakistan is a safe country to tour.

“Pakistan is a safe country and security is good too, we got a home-like atmosphere here. I cannot convince other countries but now after this historic series, they can think about touring Pakistan,” He added.

He also appreciated emerging Naseem Shah bowling as he bowled very well even at a young age and looked mature with his line and lengths.

The 31-year-old has accepted that his fellow team-mates are lacking experience and Test cricket is a game of patience.

“We are a young side, our cricketers lacked experience, Test cricket is a game of patience,”

It should be noted that Pakistan won a Test series at home after 13 years. Pakistan comprehensively against Sri Lanka in Karachi by 264 runs and jumped to the third position in the ICC Test championship points table. Abid Ali for his brilliant performance was awarded Man of the Match and Series.
