India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has said that youngsters should put in the hard yards if they want to succeed in life because that’s how they can achieve something worthwhile.
According to DNA India Sachin Tendulkar was at an event organized at Amravati district where he revealed his experiences in cricket and what was the reason behind his highly successful career.
“It was my childhood dream to play for India and win the World Cup. To realise that dream I toiled consistently. I never gave up and finally achieved it. It took me 22 years to realise it. I succeeded because I kept trying. So, if you want to achieve anything in your life, don’t turn your back and try to achieve it till you succeed,” he told the youngsters.
He recalled events of the day India won the World Cup in 2011 as fans were delighted on such a significant achievement which is why he can never forget that moment.
“That was the day when cricket fans danced and jumped even on my car. That was the first time fans jumped on my car and danced. I enjoyed it. I was greatly delighted, because it was a moment that had given joy to millions of people. I can never forget it,” Sachin said while responding to a question asked by a student.
Sachin Tendulkar also expressed his disappointment for being criticised by someone who has no idea about the game but he answered them through his bat without uttering even a single word which is reflected by the milestones and accolades he has achieved throughout his fantastic career.
“Those who never held a bat in their hands and took a single run used to criticise me. But I answered them with my bat, choosing not to utter a word. I always gave a positive reply through my bat.”
