Haris eager to perform in big matches after scoring against Zimbabwe U19

Potchefstroom: Mohammad Haris, the player of the match against Zimbabwe U19 for his 51 balls 81 is now gearing up to perform in big matches in the ongoing ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

Haris was happy for the win against the quality Zimbabwe side but is now cautious as the tournament is now progressing towards the knockout stage.

“This victory was really important because the team of Zimbabwe was quite good. The win is also beneficial for us as this will help the team to identify problems which will not be repeated in big matches,” Haris while sharing his view in a video released by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Middle-order batsman knew his role given by the coach on how to play on this flat pitch after the innings was going at a very slow pace.

“The wicket was very flat and my mindset was to attack the bowlers and they got pressurized and started to bowl lose balls and I decided to pound on them,” he said.

“When I went in the middle, we were playing at a very slow pace so the coach told me not to panic and play till the 50 overs. I played according to the plan,” he added.

It must be noted that Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe in their second match of the competition by 38 runs and know Pakistan has made its position strong to qualify for the next stage. The green shirts will take on Bangladesh in their last group fixture on January 24.
