Pakistan’s middle order left-hand batsman, Haris Sohail believes he is recovering well from the career threatening knee injury. As a last resort, Sohail had to undergo a surgery in December 2015 and now he is in the rehabilitation phase.
Haris Sohail stated, “The injury was a serious one and surgery was really the last choice after all other options had been exhausted but I am confident that I will be able to fully recover and serve Pakistan again,”
Haris Sohail will be able to start cricket related training from June and onwards. Sohail said in an interview, “My recovery is a little slow but I am getting better day by day and with God’s help, I should recover completely,”
Haris Sohail debuted for Pakistan back in 2013 and he looked a promising prospect for the struggling Pakistan middle order. The stylish left-hander is also a handy slow left arm bowler. The knee injury jolted Pakistan as they lost a batsman, who was having an average of 43 in 22 matches with an impressive rate of 82.86.
The 27 year old is having a slow recovery, thus, he is not sure whether he will be able to make in the national squad for England tour. His rehabilitation stage has just started; he believes he will take around six months to get recover and get into the team.
He told in the interview, “I can only start sports related activity after four of five months into this recovery period of six months,”
He went on to say, “So, I expect to start training later this month and start cricket-related training around June.”
Since Haris Sohail’s injury, Pakistan’s middle order is constantly struggling and they haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement for him.
