Farhan Hashmi and Abbas Zaib steered Pakistan to beat India by 2-0 in the final of Asian Junior Team Championship in Thailand on Sunday.
Hashmi, after losing first set by 2-11 to his Indian counterpart Veer Chotrani, made a strong comeback winning next two sets consecutively by 11-7 and 11-9 respectively. Pakistani contestant was eying to a straight win clinching the third set but unfortunately, it went 11-5 in favor of Chotrani.
The last round was an interesting clash between the two opponents as both the contestants were scoring after regular intervals. Hashmi of Pakistan took the lead of two which handed him a convincing in the first match of the final day.
In the second match, Abbas Zaib outclassed Atakrash Behemani by 3-0. Zaib marked three back to back sets to his name by the scores of 11-4, 11-2 and 11-6 respectively.
