Hassan Hadi Khan dominates in 32nd Pakistan Scrabble Championship


Karachi: Hassan Hadi Khan remained on top with 6 wins and a spread of 919 in the ongoing 32nd Pakistan Scrabble Championship here at Pharmevo Guest House. 

Defending champion Hasham Hadi, Waseem Khatri, and Basil Khan also won six matches and are ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively based on spread. The 9-year-old Bilal Asher was hugely impressive finishing day one on the 9th. M. Inayatullah was the only senior player showing some resistance against the young masters. The senior contestant secured 12th rank.

The three-day event will conclude tomorrow.

It must be noted here that the Pakistan Scrabble Association resumed the regular scrabble activities after a gap of six months due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The tournament is taking place in strict COVID-19 SoPs.

As many as 44 players took part in the event based on national rating vying for the “national champion” title.
