Hazara Girls FA confirms quarter-finals spot in NWFC 2021


Karachi: Hazara Girls Football Academy confirmed their place in the 2021 National Women’s Football Championship quarter-finals beating Gilgit WFC 1-0 in their Group ‘A’ match at the KMC Stadium on Tuesday.

For Hazara Girls FA it was Zohra Nasir who scored a stunning winner from outside the box triggering emotional celebrations in the team’s dugout and on the field. Hazara Girls FA ended second in the four-team Group ‘A’ behind Wapda, who’ve won all their matches.

On the other hand, Masha United secured a mammoth 35-0 victory over Karachi WFC while Higher Education Commission (HEC) beat Sialkot City WFC 10-0 in the Group ‘B’ matches.

Masha United broke Army’s record of most goals scored in the 2021 NWFC by 10 goals. Nepalese Anita KC was the highest scorer for Masha with 16 goals while her compatriot Saru Limbu netted 10 times.

Areeba scored a hat-trick for the Faisalabad-based club while Samroz Samreen, Gita Rana and Anjila Tumpabo Subba scored two goals each. Masha are now on top of Group ‘B’ with nine points while Karachi United are second with a smaller goal difference but equal on points. Both teams are going to play against each other on Thursday.

HEC got their first win at the championship when they beat Sialkot City WFC 10-0. Anmol Hira was the star of the show for HEC with a hat-trick to her name while Samana Baig and Sidra scored a brace each. Tajda Parveen, Kulsum Badar and Meherngaz also contributed with a goal each.
