‘How will Amir play if he doesn’t impress selectors?’ Waqar Younis

Derby: Pakistan men’s team bowling coach Waqar Younis has once again given his opinion over Mohammad Amir’s comeback in the national side.

Waqar revealed that he didn’t know about the meeting between Amir and PCB chief executive Wasim Khan

“I was not aware of this and got to know through media. Wasim is the head of cricket and he got every right to meet anyone,” Waqar told reporters in a virtual presser.

“There has been a lot of talks on Amir’s matter but if he doesn’t want to take his retirement back, if he doesn’t want to impress the selectors then it is hard talking about that,” he added.

Waqar emphasized to Amir that it is not franchise cricket. “This is not my cricket, this is not Amir’s cricket. This is not franchise cricket, one has to remember that.”

It must be noted Wasim visited Amir’s house before Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6’s second leg and they had a detailed discussion on his retirement matter.
