Pakistan’s former captain and chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, has criticized the team management for not selecting leg-spinner Yasir Shah in the ongoing first Test against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi.
“How can you bench Yasir, especially in Asian conditions? He should have been there to provide you some sort of experience in the bowling. “He was a good option as a right-arm leg-spinner to go with,” he shared his views on through his official Youtube channel.
“There should be a combination of pacers and spinner. Spinners can be lethal for teams to control things from one end,” he said.
It must be noted here that Pakistan had picked four specialist fast bowlers in the opening Test of a historic Test series. They neglected Yasir, who has immense experience of bowling in Asian conditions.
Sri Lanka resumed Day 2 of the opening Test at 202-5. They had scored 222-5 before rain interrupted the contest.
