Young pacer Mohammad Husnain bagged 6 wickets for 19 runs to help Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
Husnain bowled brilliantly to restrict the opponents to 93 runs while defending 184 and handed the green shirts second consecutive victory.
Sent into bat first, Pakistan’s batting line flopped completely as they were reduced to 82-5. Amad Butt was the top scorer for Pakistan with 44 runs. The right-handed batsman rescued Pakistan in a difficult situation.
Wicket-keeper batsman Rohail Nazir scored 37 runs off 47 balls. Khushdil Shah made 32 runs.
Asitha Fernando took three wickets while Kalana Perera and Kalana Perera bagged two wickets each.
In reply, Sri Lankan batsmen couldn’t get hold of pacer Husnain. Opener Pathum Nissanka top-scored with 34 runs.
Apart from Husnain, Khushdil and Umer Khan shared two wickets apiece.
