‘I am confident that Pakistan will win T20I series’ expresses Mushtaq

KARACHI: Former Test cricketer and current National High-Performance Centre (NHPC)’s coach Mushtaq Ahmed urged fans to support their players in tough times.

While talking exclusively to ARY News, Mushtaq hailed Pakistan’s unpredictable comeback in T20Is against England.

“Pakistan were excellent in the first T20I. They batted well, fielded exceptionally and that helped them gain much-needed momentum,” he said.

“I watched the game with immense excitement as our players put all of their efforts into it. Now, with this win I strongly hope that this team will win the series,” he expressed.

Mushtaq thinks that this team is young and need some time to build up a strong and composed unit. “I believe there is a need to give them some time. We have brought in Sohaib Maqsood, Azam Khan is a good talent, Saud Shakeel is a good addition to ODIs. So, overall this team looks good and will take two to three series to settle down,” he highlighted.

“But, being a fan and follower of the Pakistani team, you need to be patient. You have to give them some time. This was how Pakistan won Champions Trophy as those players took some time to gell in. I hope this team will take Pakistan on top,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that Pakistan won the first T20I against England by 31 runs on Thursday. They will now face the English side on July 18 and 20 respectively in the second and third T20I.
