Swabi: Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah says I am keeping myself fit and ready to join Pakistan team for the upcoming England tour scheduled from July 14.
The 29 years aged Yasir belonging to Swabi took over the cricket world by surprise last year grabbing as many as 76 wickets in 12 test matches.
Yasir’s superb bowling played a major role in winning the test series against England 2-0 in UAE in Sept and Oct last year.
Yasir who practices regularly in the Gohati cricket stadium while speaking to the media said he’s available for the England series and is willing to play again for his country according to the wishes of his people and the Pakistan cricket board.
It may be noted that Yasir was provisionally suspended on Dec 27 last year after confirmation of using banned medicine which is prohibited by World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).
Yasir admitted using the medicine by mistake to which PCB later on appealed with the ICC against Yasir’s ban.
However the leg-spinner was banned for 3 months by ICC which ended on March 27 and now he is optimistic to join the team once again.
The upcoming England tour which includes four Tests, five One Day internationals and a T20 will indeed be a challenging one for Pakistan.
Meanwhile it has been learnt that fast bowler Junaid Khan who also belongs to Swabi is in England and will soon return to Pakistan.
