KARACHI: A young female boxer, Zaib Un Nisa said after winning her bout in the bantamweight category of KE Girls’ Boxing Championship that such events encourage girls, which is actually the need of the time.
She was unable to describe her feelings after winning her fight saying, “The joy of winning cannot be expressed in words, I cannot tell you how happy I am.”
The young boxer seems determined to pursuit her career in boxing and wants to bring glory to her country in Olympics.
“I want to win a gold medal in Olympics,” she told ARY Sports. “I am very serious about it, I am continuing my studies but I will continue boxing along with that.”
Zaib has been learning boxing for the past one and a half year in a boxing and taekwondo academy of Gulshan-e-Hadeed, where former Olympian Shahid Kamrani trains her.
The young boxer believes that athletes like her need support from private as well as government sectors, they can perform as good as athletes of any other country. While saying that, she warned rival countries that they are ready to fight.
“I want to warn the rival countries that they should be careful from us as we are ready to fight,” said the motivated boxer.
On being questioned about India’s performance in boxing and their huge contingent at Rio Olympics, Zaib answered that they are good at promoting their talent, which is why they are succeeding at the big stage.
