‘I was not up to the mark as a skipper against India’ Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, Australian captain in the shorter format, said that he needs some rest to gain his form back after getting dismissed thrice without any impressive performance during their three-match ODI series against India which they lost 2-1.

Finch thinks that the series against Australia was disappointing for them as a unit but the bitter side for him is that he has failed to score runs as a skipper.

“I know we were not up to the mark and we are really concern about this,” he said.

The right-handed batsman thinks that it is the right time for him to take a side and work on his techniques to get back in the proper shape for the upcoming assignments.

On the other hand, the skipper is satisfied with his batsmen who worked really hard to bat strongly in the middle order and such improvement has made the difference in their performance.

“It is good to see out batters improving gradually and turning things right for them,” he said.

It merits mentioning here that Finch didn’t make it to Australia’s final Test squad for their upcoming series against Sri Lanka following his poor form.
