The ranking system will be based on all formats i.e. the ODIs, T20s and tests and so points will be awarded on equal basis and will be collated in one ranking scenario without diving it in all formats specifically.
ICC Women’s Team Rankings (as on 1 October 2015)
3 New Zealand

Australian womens’ captain was excited to hear about this news and said that ” It’s certainly nice to be recognized as world number one. We’ve done a lot of hard work in the past few years to win the ICC Women’s World Cup and ICC Women’s World Twenty, as well as the Ashes recently ” (icc.com)
This is quite a decent initiative by the International Cricket Council but should not be the only one as a lot needs to be done to bring the women’s game on equal terms with the men’s game.
