Pakistan’s all-rounder, Imad Wasim awarded cash prize of Rs 30,000 to 16-years-old batsman Rohail Nazeer who struck unbeaten 130 runs on his first-class (FC) debut in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on Saturday.
Rohail, who made his debut with Islamabad region against Habib Bank Limited (HBL), became the youngest player to hit a ton on FC debut.
Imad Wasim backed the youngster and asked him to keep up the hard work in his future assignments.
Imad in a video message, praised the youngster for achieving milestone and announced to give him Rs 30,000 by his pocket to highlight his hard work.
“Rohail is really an attractive batsman, I saw him playing today and I am really impressed the way he bats,” Imad stated.
“He [Rohail] is a great prospect for Pakistan cricket,” Imad added.
The Islamabad born, Rohail over his achievement thanked the god and said that he will keep on giving his best at every level in future.
In a video message he said “I had planned before the match that I have to do something big today and by the grace of god I accomplished it,”
Rohail Nazir is the captain of Pakistan U-19 team and was also a part of Islamabad United team in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In 2017, he represented Islamabad in National T-20 cup where he scored 40 runs in two matches.
